China’s occupation of Tibet main reason
Newmai News Network
SHILLONG, April 6 – Two assigned Members of Parlaiment (MP) of the Tibetan Government-in-exile maintained that forceful occupation of Tibet by China is the main reason for the controversial border disputes.

The two MPs of the exiled Tibetan government – Karma Yeshi and Dawa Tzering – were in Shillong on Saturday to garner support of the Northeast people in their fight against the suppression by the Chinese government in Tibet.

Calling on the people of the North Eastern region to stand up with the Indian government as well as the peace loving citizens of the world to show the solidarity with the democratic movement waged by the Tibetans, Yeshi emotionally recalled Tibet as an Indpendent state that has no grudges with India.

“Tibet has no boundary problem with India and the whole border dispute is created by China out of Tibet”, stated Yeshi,

Stating that an Independent Tibet will not create a fuss as China makes out of their forceful occupation, the other member of Parlaiment Tzering said,

“Its not an obligation for India to understand our cause that we are talking about the actual boundary lines but history itself tell us how Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh to some stretch in other parts of Himalaya were claimed by China”.

The Tibetan Government in exile also made it clear that mobilizing support against Chinese alleged oppression doesn’t man that we are gainst the Olympics schedule to be held in Beijing.

“We are not against the game but our peaceful protest is to awake the world about the serious human rights violation perpetrated by China on the Tibetans”, stated yeshi, even as he said that even Tibetans in India have been instructed by the Government-in-exile not to disrupt the passing of the Olympic torch moving from India.
